As part of the TxDOT IH-30 construction project between IH-820 West Loop and Linkcrest Drive there will be a closure this coming weekend. The bridge demolition is scheduled for the first weekend of February and IH-30 will be closed in both directions. Below are the details.
WHAT: Eastbound and westbound full closure of I-30 from I-820 West Loop to Chapel Creek Boulevard from 9 p.m. on Friday, February 6 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 8Â for demolition of the existing RM 2871/Longvue Avenue bridge over I-30. Eastbound and westbound through traffic on I-30 will be encouraged to use I-20 and I-820 as their primary alternate route. Eastbound and westbound I-30 local traffic will be able to utilize the frontage roads during this closure. A detour map will be posted when available. Motorists should EXPECT DELAYS during this weekend closure of I-30.

CLOSED EASTBOUND I-30: Chapel Creek Boulevard exit ramp to I-820 West Loop (all eastbound I-30 traffic will be directed off the main lanes at the Chapel Creek exit)
CLOSED WESTBOUND I-30: I-820 West Loop to Chapel Creek Boulevard entrance ramp (all I-30 westbound traffic will be directed off the main lanes to the northbound and southbound I-820 direct connector ramps)

CLOSED: Chapel Creek Boulevard entrance ramp

Following the RM 2871/Longvue Avenue bridge demolition, crews will be continuing to build the new RM2871-Longvue Avenue bridge over IH-30 with the goal of having it open to traffic in Summer 2026. Motorists will need to use the Alemeda Street and Chapel Creek Boulevard as alternate routes following the bridge closure.
